Common Core Implementation Issues<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n
In the July 9, 2013<\/b>, School Board meeting, the board discusses issues surrounding the implementation of Common Core.<\/p>\n

The issue of <\/span>Common Core Math 1<\/b> was discussed and how credit is made up if students are moved up to the next level even though they fail a course. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
The Board President said that we should get students to take \u2018talking points\u2019<\/strong> home to their parents about Common Core.<\/span><\/li>\n
The Superintendent references the \u201ccrazy backward sliding on the commitment\u201d<\/strong>. He also references the \u2018conspiracy theories\u2019<\/strong> about Common Core.<\/span><\/li>\n
The Superintendent acknowledges that our Teachers do not have all the tools needed for implementation.<\/span><\/li>\n
The Superintendent and Board President state that they are not aware of any Superintendents or other local school boards that are opposed to Common Core in the state of Utah.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
